"Consultation Flawed" submitted March 08
See PREF's objection to Fife Council's proposed modifications to the Finalised Fife Structure Plan and re-appraisal of Housing Land requirement.

Objections to the proposed windfarm near Ceres have flooded into Fife Council but the media have taken up our particular message. On Friday, the Fife Herald newspaper reported on our concerns over the proposed location of the windfarm and, last week, the Courier and Scotsman reported on our fears over tourism. Word has also spread across the Atlantic with news reports now on the Wind Watch website. At last count more than 350 objections were registered with Fife Council and the overwhelming message appears to be NO to the windfarm at Ceres.
"Premature Plans for Parking Meters in St Andrews?"
PREF has objected to a planning application for the siting of 1.8m tall parking meters in St Andrews Town centre. Our objections focus upon the fact that plans do not form part of the proposed Fife Structure Plan and we are not convinced that this matter has been properly thought out.

In response to a consultation run by Fife Council, PREF has submitted comments on two draft documents for supplementary guidance on Wind Energy and Renewable Technologies other than Wind
"Fife Council Delay Release of Finalised Local Plan"
Consultation on the finalised version of the St Andrews and East Fife Local Plan has been delayed and is now expected to take place between 1st Oct 2007 and 30th Nov 2007
"Executive Overwhelmed with Objections to Structure Plan"
More than 2400 objections have been lodged with the Scottish Executive concerning the Finalised version of the Fife Structure Plan 2006-2026. A decision on the plan is expected imminently and, according to a report submitted to Fife Council's Environment and Development Committee of 25th Jan 2007, it would seem that Fife Council are now preparing for the inevitable Examination in Public.

PREF has responded to a public consultation and raised concerns regarding a proposed planning application for 250 houses at Gilliesfauld in Cupar......
"New Chair of PREF Elected"
At our meeting of 20th September 2006, a new Chair and committee were duly elected. Margaret Calder of Cupar takes over from Helen Lowe who steps down after many months of exhaustive but very successful campaigning...........
