Who are we?

Protect Rural East Fife (PREF) is an autonomous association of community representatives committed to the sustainable development of Fife towns, villages and landscape. The association was formed specifically to critically address development proposals for Fife by Fife Council and other parties, and to engage with wider development and strategic planning issues which affect Fife. PREF is non-party political, promoting education and public debate on local planning issues through community action.

Our objective

To Protect the unique character of Rural East Fife by;
1. Monitoring and responding to strategically sensitive planning proposals
2. Offering support and information to grass roots organizations working to protect their communities.
